Ozark Pie

1 egg

3/4 cup sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup tart apples, pared, cored, and chopped

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1-1/2 quarts vanilla ice cream

3 chocolate covered toffee bars, frozen

Combine egg, sugar, salt, baking powder, and flour. Beat well. Stir in apples and nuts. Pour mixture into a well greased 10 inch pie pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Cool completely (crust rises, then falls while cooling). Soften ice cream slightly; spoon into shell. Crush toffee bars and sprinkle over ice cream. Freeze. Remove from freezer 15 minutes before serving.
