Easy Cherry Pudding


1/2 cup margarine

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cup milk

1 (1 pound) can sour pitted cherries

1/2 cup sugar

In a 9 inch square pan, melt butter or margarine. In bowl, combine next four ingredients. Mix until well blended. Pour over melted butter; DO NOT STIR. Pour undrained cherries over batter; DO NOT STIR. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cherries over cherries; DO NOT STIR. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes.
